
Current Watering Restrictions
Sarasota County is under mandatory year-round water use restrictions issued by the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD.
In compliance with the Southwest Florida Water Management District's emergency water restrictions, residents will be able to water lawns only once a week . This is due to continuing drought conditions. The new restrictions apply to all properties.
Even addresses ("house numbers" ending with a 0,2,4,6, or 8) may only water on Tuesdays.
luxury hotels in Coimbra Odd addresses ("house numbers" ending with a 1,3,5,7,or 9) may only water on Sundays.
No irrigation between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The maximum amount of water applied is limited to 3/4 inch in each zone, once, on each allowable watering day,
Flower beds, vegetable gardens, and other non-lawn areas may be irrigated as needed using a hand-watering device with a shut-off nozzle, micro irrigation, and other forms of horticulture appropriate, low volume irrigation, without respect to the day of week or time of day.
Newly planted lawn and landscape areas may be watered on any day of the week for a 60-day establishment period that begins the day that the plant material is installed. No irrigation between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Section 10 or Ordinance No. 2000-015 establishes the following penalties for watering violations:
Warning Notice: no civil penalty
First Offense: $100
Second Offense:* $300
Third Offense:** $500
Within 12 months from date of first offense
** Within 12 months from date of second offense
