| Field Trip Schedule
Field trips are open to members and, provided space is available, to their guests. If you would
like to take part in a trip, please contact the registrar to reserve space and get travel instructions
and other details. Reservations will be taken no more than two weeks in advance for day trips
and three weeks for longer trips. The opening date for registration is noted for each trip. Please
notify the registrar of a change or cancellation immediately — even a last minute cancellation
can make the trip possible for someone else on the waiting list.
Most trips are by car, and drivers are urged to register early to simplify the task of the registrar
and to permit others to make plans. The rider fee is the amount the driver will receive from
each passenger. The amounts have been estimated to share expenses as fairly as possible.
Registrars are encouraged to ask trip participants if they would rent a car, when cars are not
available. However, when there are no cars for car pool trips, the trip leader, registrar, and field
trip chairpersons have the option of changing the trip's destination to a location more
accessible by public transportation.
Bring lunch and bottled water on all trips. On overnight trips, accommodations will be arranged
on a double-occupancy basis unless otherwise requested. Additional field trip information will
be announced at regular meetings and in the Linnaean News-Letter. For further information
about a specific trip, contact the trip registrar before 10 p.m. If you are unable to reach a
registrar, please call the field trip chairperson. All members, please refer to your “Schedule
of Events” booklet for names and telephone numbers of registrars and chairpersons.
