Extemporaneous Preaching Without Fear

Practice preaching in a joyful manner, without notes, enabling your hearers to experience the Good News of the Gospel. This course encourages you to develop imagination and creativity in your sermon design and delivery. It is a laboratory course using a narrative and liberation theology perspective. Participants receive individual coaching and feedback in preparing and delivering sermons.

J. Alfred Smith, Sr. is senior pastor of Allen Temple Baptist Church in Oakland, California. He serves as professor of preaching and Christian ministry at the American Baptist Seminary of the West and the Graduate Theological Union of Berkeley, California. He is also Visisting Professor at Fuller Theological Seminary. Named as one of Americas fifteen outstanding preachers by Ebony magazine, Dr. Smith is the author or editor of sixteen books, including The Overflowing Heart, Making Sense of Suffering, Preach On!, and No Other Help I Know.
